Psychologist Kendig was born in Chicago and attended Oberlin (A.B. 1912) and Radcliffe (M.A. 1930, Ph.D 1933) colleges. She served as research, associate, and chief psychologist at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C. (1935-1950) and as research psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health (1955-?).
